Field Rules and Forecast
Field Rules and Forecast
The following list of rules, guidelines, and regulations exists as a helpful guide to maximize both the enjoyment and safety for all participants at official Division 6 events. It is recommended that you read and familiarize yourself with these rules, so you can ensure a positive, safe experience for everyone involved. Thank you!
NOTE: Division 6 Staff reserves the right to amend, adjust, or waive these rules on an individual basis, based on our interpretation of the situation at hand, and to update these rules as needed.
Waivers
Waivers are required for any event hosted at the Division 6 Field, whether hosted by Division 6, or by a third party. Waivers, once signed, are good for the entire year in which they were signed. Additional waivers may need to be signed for special events (i.e. themed "operations," etc.)
You WILL NOT play if you do not sign a waiver, or have one on file! Waivers for the Division 6 Field can be found here.
For those under the age of 18, you MUST print out a waiver and have your parent or legal guardian sign it, or arrange to have your parent or legal guardian present at the field to sign. If you do not come with a signed waiver, or your parent or legal guardian, you WILL NOT be able to participate.
For those 18 years of age or older, you must present a signed waiver, or sign one at the field, before being able to participate.
Safety Equipment
For those under the age of 18, you are required to wear full face protection, with integrated eye protection fully sealing around the eyes. The face and ears must be covered. Acceptable methods of facial protection for minors are: ANSI-compliant paintball masks; full-face mesh masks.
For those 18 years of age or older, you are required to wear eye protection. Acceptable methods of eye protection for adults are: ANSI-compliant paintball masks; full-face mesh masks; ANSI-compliant goggles, mesh goggles, ANSI-compliant shooting goggles/glasses (must wrap around).
As airsoft is an inherently dangerous sport, it is recommended that you wear either a full-face mask, or a combination of goggles/shooting glasses and a balaclava or similar head/face covering. If you choose to wear less than the recommended amount of facial protection, Division 6 and the field owners will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained.
All alternative means of eye/face protection not mentioned in this section MUST be approved by Division 6 Staff before being allowed to be used on the field. If you have any questions to this effect, please ask around for the nearest Division 6 Staff member.
At NO POINT during an active game should your eye/facial protection be removed, for any circumstance! If you must remove your eye/facial protection due to fogging or other issues, remove yourself from the game and go to a designated safe zone.
Water
It is recommended that you bring at least one (1) gallon of water, per person in your group, with you to our games. We do not have running water available, though we try to bring more than we need, in order to share. HOWEVER, do not count on water being available. Think ahead, come prepared.
Velocity Limits & Engagement Distances
The velocity limits are as follows, with FPS, weapons selection, games playable, and minimum engagement distance explained (all readings taken with .20 gram BBs):
CLASS 1 - Less than (<) 335 FPS: All guns intended for use in either CQB or night games, either indoor or outdoor, must chrono at less than 335 FPS. This includes spring-powered weapons, gas-powered weapons, and Automated Electric Guns (AEGs). There is NO minimum engagement distance within this class.
CLASS 2 - Between 336 FPS and 420 FPS: All guns not intended for use in either CQB or night games, will be allowed to chrono between 336 FPS and 450 FPS. This includes spring-powered weapons, gas-powered weapons, and Automated Electric Guns (AEGs). There is a 30 foot minimum engagement distance within this class.
CLASS 3 - Between 421 FPS and 550 FPS: ONLY guns designated as "sniper" weapons will be allowed to chrono between 421 FPS and 550 FPS. This includes bolt-action spring-powered guns, and bolt-action gas-powered guns ONLY. In an effort to preserve game balance, semi-automatic guns and AEGs modified to semi-automatic only will NOT be allowed. There is a 100 foot minimum engagement distance within this class.
CLASS 4 - Greater than (>) 550 FPS: Not allowed.
Special Weapons
All special weapons must be demonstrated beforehand, with the supplier of the weapon acting as the intended target. Division 6 Staff reserves the final call on whether or not to allow special weapons of any kind onto the field.
Smoke-Generating Devices
Smoke-Generating Devices (smoke grenades, etc.) are allowed for use on the Division 6 Field, but they must be COLD-BURNING and activated by means of a pull-tab. Smokes that do not have a pull-tab, or requires a flame to activate are NOT allowed.
Examples of APPROVED smokes:

These devices can be purchased at Hi-Vel.com, and other retailers.
There is no limit on how many smokes may be deployed in one area of the field, but common sense is paramount. Do not deploy smokes within 50 feet of the boundaries, as a safeguard against false alarm and a courtesy to our neighbors. Whoever deploys a smoke should remain in the general area to ensure that nothing catches on fire, and additionally should watch for any depleted casings to pick up after use as a courtesy to the landowner.
