D6 History
History of Division 6
Division 6 was founded in September 2006 by a like-minded group of airsoft enthusiasts who wished to create, and centrally locate, a resource organization for northern Virginia (NoVA) airsoft players. At the time, airsoft availability in NoVA was somewhat sparse, with most games, paid operations, and playing fields located in either southern Maryland or southern Virginia, making them inconvenient, inaccessible or cost-prohibitive for a large amount of airsoft players in the NoVA region.
In one month, Division 6 had connected dozens of NoVA airsoft players, organized a handful of meet-and-greets, formed a "home team" and subsidiary team, and began construction on our generously donated 45-acre, private playing field.
In one year, we finished the first phase of construction on the field, held dozens of games and events (two to three per month), had members attend four large operations together, and solidified our presence in the mid-Atlantic as an airsoft organization.
As we continue to grow older and more established as an organization, let us never forget that it is the players who make this sport what it is. Represent and stand for the players, and you can't go wrong.
